Reading In A Humanities Classroom
(Math & History)
It is incredibly important to not only learn history, but to remember it. As George Santayana so boldly put it, "The one who does not remember history is bound to live through it again." History and math work together to shape our world. Surprisingly to some, math surrounds us everyday, and yet most people have a hard time making sense of it. One of the biggest reasons is because unless its correlation to life is explained, it is hard to find the connections. Understanding the significance of analyzing a set of data is hard unless you are able to connect with it. This set of information uses reading and videos to give depth when analyzing the information gathered by Nazi's about the people they murdered. On average we are taught that the Holocaust was really bad, and that there was a large number of people who were tortured and murdered. However, unless a deeper investigation happens it is hard to completely understand the complexity and horrors that actually happened.Once we are able to understand all that happened, then we will be able to do our best to stand up and stop the current genocides, and possibly even prevent future ones.
